Weekly update #3

I’m still getting feedback from the beta readers, mostly a few minor fixes to apply, but the content seems to be going over well. I’m excited to get Requiem completed and published, mostly because I can’t really focus on the 3rd book until I do.

Speaking of the next book, I’m still trying to decide if I should continue working on the Narrows Company series or move to one of two other ideas I’ve had.

One is a series that will follow a gang of criminals called the Spirit Breakers. Led by Marcus Kressidin, the appropriately nicknamed Silver Tongue, the Breakers seek to overthrow the regime of the Immortal Emperor through a combination of subverting the Kressidin noble house and gaining control of the criminal underworld. The setting is the one from Blades in the Dark, the TTRPG, which I think would leave me free to publish it using their Creative Commons license, but I want to double check first. It’ll be based on the campaign I’m in for said TTRPG.

The other possibility is a series I’m planning on calling Broken Heroes. It follows a group of people who discover they have super powers and decide to try and fight crime. The conflicts they fall into ends up only being the tip of the iceberg, however, as they simply represent a much more important war that is churning on the metaphysical plane between the very forces of psyche and consciousness themselves, the Primals.
